On 12 October, China's Ministry of Commerce described the understandings reached on hybrid and electric vehicles.
China's Ministry of Commerce published an explanation on automotive trade with the European Union. For hybrid vehicles, the Chinese side set out three principles: respect for actual trade volumes, a non-discriminatory approach and compliance with WTO rules. For electric vehicles, the EU will continue procedures related to manufacturers' price undertakings and reviews of measures. The statement reflects the position of the Chinese ministry; it does not mean a general lifting of restrictions and does not automatically change the rules for importing cars into Russia.
